Network infrastructure protocol between Cisco and Future University

Future University in Egypt (FUE) located in New Cairo signed a co-operation protocol yesterday with Cisco International, the worldwide leader in IT and networking.

The protocol will make the university one of the leading universities in the world.

Dr Khaled Al-azazy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the first founder of the university, attended the signing ceremony.

President of Future University in Egypt (FUE) Ebada Sarhan and Ayman el-Gohary, CEO of Cisco for Egypt, North Africa and the Arab Levant, signed the agreement.

The move emphasizes the Future University’s role in offering advanced educational programs that meet the requirements of local, regional and international labor markets.

The protocol will support co-operation with Cisco in exchange of expertise and providing high-quality education, with focus on scientific, academic and research co-operation, Al-azazy said.

The two parties agreed to establish the Cisco Academy for Communications and Information Technology in the Future University.

The academy will work to train students of College of Computing and Information Technology and College of Engineering and Technology on all Cisco global programs and smart solutions.

At the conclusion of the training course, the students will be awarded international certificates approved by the company.

As per the terms of the protocol, Cisco International will be in charge of equipping the university’s laboratories with the latest information and communications technology, a network lab, a 5G lab, and an Internet of Things (IoT) lab.

The agreement also stipulates that Cisco will develop the university’s networks to provide high-speed Internet services.

Following the signing ceremony, Future University in Egypt's President Ebada Sarhan described the protocol as “one of the most important achievements as it trains students in practice before graduation to keep pace with the labor market, especially since Cisco is an international company and its products are used in most national projects in Egypt and abroad”.
