The Supreme Council of Universities was established in 1950, and the council aims to provide university education that pushes human development to effectively contribute to the development and implementation of the country's economic development plans and the application of modern technology. It works on the independence of universities and prepares distinguished graduates who are able to compete in the global labor market in order to achieve a link between university education and the needs of society and production. The Council seeks to develop and update the performance of universities by applying methods of performance evaluation, quality assurance, achieving a knowledge society and encouraging innovation and creativity within the framework of scientific competition based on excellence.
