Mr. Welbeck, originally from the United Kingdom, is the founding principal of MHIS. His professional career spans +20 years, during which he has held teaching, head of department, curriculum and assessment executive, and senior administrative roles, as well as years spent in the fields of training and technology analysis in London.

He is currently the Academic Director of the ACE Group, and whole School Principal of Carleton College.

He is also a Lead Evaluator for American accreditation firm, Cognia (Advanc-Ed). Having already earned degrees from Queen Mary and Roehampton in the UK, he is currently a Doctoral student at the Faculty of Educational Leadership; Acacia University, USA, where he continues his research in educational technologies.

His prior educational research is journal published as are two co-authored books on the use of augmented reality (AR) in the classroom. Mr. Welbeck is a dedicated husband, and father of 4 children, and has made Egypt his home since late 2009.
