Ages 3-5  Children in Preschool and Reception learn through fun, practical activities. We create a warm and friendly environment allowing our children to play, learn and discover the world around them. We believe in allowing each child to develop at their own rate, providing an engaging learning environment with a mix of adult led and child-initiated activities.

KEY STAGE ONE (age 5-7)  Key Stage 1 includes Years 1 and 2. In Year 1 we build upon the Early Years Foundation Stage and continue to develop the early skills of reading, writing and mathematics through a process of continuous provision (at the beginning), moving towards a more formalised learning approach. Our aim is to develop in every child an inquisitive mind and a passion for learning. Our enthusiastic teachers and engaging lessons prepare children for a rapidly changing world, encouraging them to learn by being open-minded and taking risks.

KEY STAGE TWO (age 7-11) In Key Stage 2 there are four Year Groups: 3, 4, 5 and 6. In Key Stage 2 we build on the excellent foundations established in Key Stage 1, so that by the end of this phase learners are ready to take on the challenges of learning within the secondary school. Children advance significantly academically, socially, morally and culturally and develop greater independence and self-confidence to prepare them to become global citizens in the rapidly changing world.

KEY STAGE THREE (age 11-14)  Our pupils progress though Key Stage 3 where they follow a modified version of the English National Curriculum. This allows the development of the essential subject skills vital to success in both study and in life. MBIS teachers encourage students to become independent learners, helping them to process ideas critically, rather than simply teaching content to pass an exam. All students study a full range of subjects including: English, Maths, Science, Humanities (History and Geography), Computer Science, Physical Education, a language (Arabic, Spanish or French), Art and Design, Business Studies, Design Technology, Learning for Life and Music. During Year 9, students and parents are invited to the Year 9 Options Evening, where they have the opportunity to discuss IGCSE subject choices with teachers and subject leaders.

KEY STAGE FOUR (age 14-16)  In Key Stage 4, all students study three core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) as well as four optional subjects over 2 years to complete their International General Certificate in Secondary Education (IGCSE). Most subjects are assessed by a combination of in classwork and a final standardised exam at the end of Year 11.
