President\ Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi issued a presidential decree of 2020 appointing Prof. Mahmoud Ahmed Zaki Mohamed as President of Tanta University.
It is worth noting that Prof. Mahmoud Zaki gained the Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering from Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, in 1987. He gained the Master's degree in 1992. Then he got the PhD degree in Artificial Intelligence Applications in Designing Hospitals in 1995.
Prof. Mahmoud Zaki occupied higher scientific positions. He was appointed as a Lecturer of Architecture and Architectural Design in 1995. Next, he became Assistant Professor at Department of Architectural Engineering in 2000. Then, he was appointed as a Professor of Architecture and Architectural Design in 2006.
Prof. Zaki occupied many administrative positions at Faculty of Engineering, Tanta University. He was Head of Architectural Engineering Department from 2011 till January 2019 and a member of Permanent Committee of Promoting Professors and Assistant Professors at the Supreme Council of Universities (SCU) from 2013 to 2017. After that, he became Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Tanta University, in January 2019.
Moreover, Prof. Mahmoud Zaki has been an international consultant at many world organizations since 2006 in the field of designing hospitals, feasibility studies of huge projects, and development of business administration. He has many publications in local, regional and international periodicals. He chaired a lot of local and international conferences.
