The Council of British International Schools (COBIS) is a membership association that represents more than 400 schools and organisations, globally. A fundamental aim of COBIS is to support our members and represent their interests in Britain and overseas, particularly with Government, education authorities and educational associations. We are committed to advancing the interests of British schools overseas and the commercial organisations that export education resources, products and services. We work closely and in partnership with the Department for International Trade and the Department for Education.

The Diploma Programme (DP) curriculum is made up of six subject groups and the DP core, comprising theory of knowledge (TOK), creativity, activity, service (CAS) and the extended essay.
Through the Diploma Programme (DP) core, students reflect on the nature of knowledge, complete independent research and undertake a project that often involves community service.

British Schools in the Middle East supports a network of high quality British international schools in the region. In addition, we facilitate an invaluable partnership between member schools and business partners specialising in educational services, products and tools.
 
British Schools in the Middle East offers a robust and varied professional learning calendar to support career progression pathways at all levels, as well as providing high-level sporting, academic and performing arts events for our Students. Our Headship Induction Partner Programme provides new Principals and Heads with the support they need while they find their feet in the region. We support the accreditation of member schools and lobby regulatory bodies to the benefit of our schools. 

Penta International is one of the leading independent providers of training, consultancy and inspection services in the United Kingdom and overseas.

Founded in 1996, we work with primary, secondary and special schools, including Pupil Referral Units and LEA Support Services, as well as directly for local and national governments. 

We specialise in inspecting schools overseas, including British Schools Overseas.

Penta International has access to over 750 trainers, consultants and inspectors based in the United Kingdom and overseas.

We have offices in the Middle East, in China and in South America, as well as the UK.

The Independent Schools Council brings together seven associations of independent schools, their heads, bursars and governors.
Through our member associations we represent over 1,300 independent schools in the UK and overseas. These schools are ranked among the best in the world and educate more than half a million children each year.

What we do at ISC
ISC’s work is carried out by a small number of dedicated professionals working out of our offices in Central London. We are assisted by the contributions from expert advisory groups in specialist areas. Our priorities are set by the board of directors led by our Chairman, Barnaby Lenon. We are tasked by our members to protect and promote the sector in everything we do.
