Mrs Deirdre Greaney joined The British School, Alexandria in January 2012 as FS2 class teacher and took over as Head of Pre-Prep in April 2013.  Deirdre spent a number of years previously teaching in  Ireland and the Red Sea both in Sharm and El Gouna. Deirdre studied Economics and Maths before completing her Post Graduate diploma in Primary Education. Deirdre enjoys visiting her family here and in Ireland during the holidays. She also enjoys Zumba and Kick boxing when she gets the time to visit the gym.

Mr Abbott has been at The British School, Alexandria for fourteen years now and has held many posts including Exams officer, Trips coordinator and Environmental coordinator. He is also currently the Head of Humanities and Deputy Head of the Senior School. Most recently as the HPL Senior lead he played a central role in helping the school achieve its accreditation (the first and only school in Africa!). He also achieved his NPQSL qualification this year in which he scored 99%. He is extremely keen to ensure that students get a well rounded education through coordinating the Enrichment Programme and Extended Curriculum Days. He is always looking to promote school trips and work with the local community raising money for charity and improving the environment. He plays golf and swims regularly at Sporting club.
