Our vibrant and busy department is based on the Consulate Campus. Students from Years 3 to 6 work and socialise together creating a warm and friendly, family atmosphere. Our revised curriculum is exciting; teachers have designed lessons that will inspire students and foster strong links across the department. Students here feel safe and supported. Subjects taught at Prep school include: English, maths, Arabic, science, history, geography, computer science, drama, music, art & design, sports and PSHE. Modern foreign languages are also offered. We help students to take the important steps needed towards becoming young adults.

Senior School

Fees:

Lower School (Years 7 to 9) Lower School begins in Year 7, at which point the curriculum is organized into a range of subject disciplines, each taught by subject specialists. English, Math and Science form the core curriculum with Arabic, Art, Computing, Drama, French, History, Geography, Music, Personal, Social, Citizenship and Health Education, and Physical Education lessons throughout the academic year. In addition, there is one session per week of Curriculum Enrichment when students have the chance to learn skills not directly related to a particular subject area. There are also very good links across the curriculum so that learning builds on the students’ experiences in the Prep School.  Upper School (Years 10 & 11) During Year 9 students are guided in their selection of GCSEs and IGCSEs that they will study in Years 10 and 11. These examination courses demand high levels of personal organization, commitment to study and perseverance. The majority of examination courses are studied over two years (as they are in similar schools in England) and are examined at the end of Year 11. Students study seven compulsory subjects (Arabic, Biology, Chemistry, English Language, English Literature, Math's and Physics) and three optional subjects, chosen from Art, Business Studies, Computing, French, Geography, German and History. Mock examinations in early January of Year 11 help confirm students’ progress and predicted grades so that they can focus on doing even better in their final examinations. Expectations are very high and students develop excellent study skills that are very well supported by frequent revision coaching and opportunities for tutorials with teachers.  During the Spring Term of Year 11 students may apply for further study in the Sixth Form. Sixth Formers have a high degree of autonomy in the school and only those with the maturity and higher order study skills are selected. Teaching groups are small so that learning is personalized to support students in making outstanding progress. Students usually select four AS levels in subjects in which they will achieve at least grade B at GCSE/IGCSE. Examinations for AS level are taken at the end of Year 12. Those students who wish to go on to do A2 level will continue into Year 13 and final examinations will be taken at the end of the year.
