The Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools of the Middle States Association accredit early-childhood through post-secondary, non-degree granting public, private, faith-based educational institutions including special purpose schools, and learning services providers.

CIS is a membership community working collaboratively to shape international education through professional services to schools, higher education institutions, and individuals. Since it was founded in 1968, the IB’s mission has been built on a cornerstone of creating a better world through education. We believe that now more than ever, and are committed to ensuring that our educational programmes reflect this for the benefit of IB schools and students.

WIDA’s story begins with the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, which brought English language learners into the national spotlight. As a result of this change, WIDA was born in 2003, when an Enhanced Assessment Grant was awarded to the Wisconsin Department of Public Education, WIDA’s first home.

Founded in 1965, ECIS (the Educational Collaborative for International Schools) is a non-profit global membership organisation.  ECIS exists as a professional life-force for members, a vibrant network of thoughtful doers and change-makers. Our membership represents 425+ schools and 35,000+ passionate educators and leaders in over 80 countries on six continents.

The Near East South Asia Council of Overseas Schools is a non-profit association of more than 100 private, independent American/international schools serving students and their families in North Africa, the Middle East and South Asia. For 50 years we have focused on promoting exemplary professional learning opportunities for educators working in our schools -- in service of improved student learning. Currently NESA includes 40+ 'member' schools plus over 130 'affiliate' schools and organizations in an area stretching from Egypt and Greece to India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

The Mediterranean Association of International Schools is a professional organization that strives to improve the quality of education in its Member schools. It promotes the professional development of Faculty, Administrators, and School Board Members effects communication and interchange and creates international understanding.

Although some interschool competition did exist prior to 1968, the first real championship was held in Zurich in 1968 in soccer for boys and volleyball for girls. The organization in the 2012-2013 now boasts a membership of twenty three (23) international schools consisting of both full member and sport member schools. The ISST is fundamentally a Varsity athletic organization which governs competitive athletic championships for its 23 member schools. The ISST currently sanctions 12 sports annually across two divisions for 22 Varsity championships in soccer, volleyball, field hockey, cross country, rugby, swimming, basketball, softball, baseball, tennis, golf and track and field plus three (3) Junior championships in the sports of cross country, swimming and track and field. The organization is controlled by the Athletic Directors of the Full Member schools. The ISST is managed by an Executive Committee (EC) consisting of a Chairperson, a Secretary, a Treasurer and three (3) ISST Athletic Directors (one of whom must be from a Sport Member school).
